Twenty-six nursing students from Škola za medicinske sestre Vrapče, Zagreb, completed a rigorous clinical internship in Sevilla. This mobility provided immersive exposure to specialized geriatric healthcare environments, where students integrated into professional teams within nursing homes and day centers.
Participants assumed significant responsibilities, including the administration of medication under clinical supervision and the preparation of residents for diagnostic testing. They performed essential wound care, administered injections, and monitored the nutritional and physical health of elderly patients, ensuring comprehensive bedside support.
Beyond technical interventions, the students managed complex clinical documentation and assisted residents with daily living activities. This hands-on experience bridged the gap between academic theory and practical, compassionate care in a multicultural European healthcare setting.
Mastering geriatric care standards through international clinical practice and patient-centered dedication.
Trainees attained proficiency in the safe administration of therapies and the systematic maintenance of clinical archives. They developed a proactive approach to resident care, balancing technical accuracy with the empathy required to improve patient comfort and dignity.
Through direct engagement with diverse cases, students mastered emergency protocols and professional instrumentation. They gained a deep understanding of the ethical and legal frameworks governing nursing, solidifying their ability to perform within complex, regulated healthcare systems.
