Six students from Kiipula Vocational College, Turenki, traveled to Sevilla to immerse themselves in professional 3D game art design. The group engaged in comprehensive technical workflows, focusing on industry-standard software including Blender, Unity, and Photoshop to refine their digital artistry.
Practical sessions involved complex polygon modeling, geometric transformations, and the meticulous construction of urban game environments. Participants developed original character models, mastering the full pipeline from initial concept to final lighting and rendering.
Creative efforts extended into 3D and 2D animation, alongside sophisticated texturing and map preparation. The trainees also gained hands-on experience in UI design, ensuring that every asset met the technical requirements necessary for seamless integration into interactive game engines.
Mastering the technical and creative pipeline of 3D game design through professional immersion and industry-standard workflows.
The experience provided a robust foundation in 3D graphics, equipping participants with professional-grade proficiency in Blender, Unity, and Photoshop. They acquired essential skills in mapping, lighting, and rendering, while mastering the foundational principles of polygon modeling and complex animation techniques.
Beyond technical execution, the students gained a clear perspective on the artist’s role within a game studio. They learned to navigate UI design, developed research strategies for artistic evolution, and now possess the expertise to contribute effectively to the video game development industry.
