Ten students from Ugostiteljsko-turističko učilište Zagreb are heading to Setúbal, Portugal, for a hands-on professional immersion. The group splits into four specialized tracks:
Pastry: Mastering doughs, creams, and tarts while managing oven precision and ingredient quality.
Restaurant Service: Managing table setups, order processing, professional service, and high-standard hygiene protocols.
Tourism Reception: Handling check-ins, guest inquiries, administrative tasks, and local concierge services to ensure seamless hospitality.
Kitchen Assistance: Preparing ingredients, executing diverse cooking methods, and mastering local Portuguese flavor profiles.
This mobility program turns classrooms into active professional environments, bridging the gap between Croatian hospitality training and international culinary standards through direct, daily practice in Setúbal’s top venues.
Ten students, four paths, one goal: elevating professional expertise through immersive, hands-on training in the heart of Setúbal’s vibrant hospitality scene.
Participants return with a robust toolkit of international skills. Pastry trainees gain mastery in decoration and packaging, while service staff refine customer relations and hygiene standards. Receptionists build administrative fluency in hotel software and guest management, and kitchen assistants develop a deep understanding of local gastronomy and professional kitchen workflows. This experience validates their technical abilities, boosts career readiness, and provides a sophisticated grasp of European service standards.
